words
Language. Words. They are capable of changing the very fabric of reality. They connect us. They separate us. They allows to communicate thoughts and ideas floating around our mind at a million miles a second. And sometimes they can change the world.
These words, my words.... aren't these kind of words. I have two writing styles: bad and mediocre, but at least I can write a grammatical correct sentence. Sometimes.
» the fiction
:: empire -- This was a story I started when I was 16. I knew nothing of life or experience, but I thought I could write about being a twenty-something living in big, bad New York and trying to find your way in the world. It is an amusing read if only for its tone and some cheesy dialogue. But I have to say, I still really like the character dynamics, namely Sam and Sean. (Incomplete)
:: untitled -- I must confess. I really love the heroine of this piece. She is probably the most complex character I've ever created. I was very intrigued by this character. I created pages and pages of backstory and I made an effort to understand her pathology. What drives a person to kill? How much of a broken human being do you have to be? It is a story about a hit woman who is sick of the "life" and wants out. But will the "life" let her out without losing her own? (Incomplete)
:: edge of seventeen -- This was my attempt at cheesy teenage love with a nice, healthy twist. I think the teenage years are such an interesting time. You formulate a concrete identity and break away from the last vestiges of childhood. I will readily admit to being a sucker for a story about two people from the opposite sides of the tracks and falling in love. It is a classic tale really about a bad good girl and the normal, upper middle class student body president. (Incomplete)
:: everything -- The genesis of this story is based entirely on something that happened to me in the summer of 2000. Like the opening of this story, I was going from Boston to New York when my best friend told me she had feelings for my other best friend. I remember at one point saying aloud, "I feel like I'm in a movie." I decided to write about it instead, but the names have been changed to protect the innocent and basically everything emotion-wise was changed for dramatic effect. What's a little romance between friends? Everything! (Incomplete)

:: a love letter to new york -- I have a complicated, deep, passionate, love-hate relationship with the city I call home.
