runnerbird ... the point is probably moot

Designing is not something I do really well or naturally, but I've taken to designing a few websites here and there just for the fun of it. Here are a collection of some non-commercial sites I have done over the past few years. And you'll see why I am just another harmless hack.

peepdom
As a graduation present to my friends, I build a site devoted to us. We called ourselves the "peeps" (really, you don't want to know) and this site houses some of our email, our respective bios and even a dictionary-style explanation of our inside jokes.

tca durden
A rather long and complicated story surrounds the creation of this particular site, but since it might get in trouble with a few people, I'd rather not reveal it. Around the time I thought "Fight Club" was the best movie ever made, I decided to start a site devoted to the "Tyler Durden" spirit. And this was the result. The funny thing is.. I really don't like the color green.

bloss
I grew up on soaps. I'm not ashamed to admit it. They fascinated my young mind with tales of love, passion, and betrayal. When I grew old enough, I designed and built a site developed to my favorite "super-couple." Although the site is now offline, it lives forever in the oblivion of my hard drive.

24 frames
After writing a bunch of movie reviews for friends and co-workers, I figured I should put together a site to house these masterpieces of film criticism. The basic design was eye-catching enough, but the framework itself was a pain of the ass to maintain. This site only last a few months before it was revamped into another incarnation.

it's love productions
A few friends from college and I would constantly joke that if we ever started a production company, we would name it 'it's love productions' after a phrase we constantly said to other each. We were very big with the inside jokes. Years later, I decided to open a site using the name for some of my more creative projects... screenplays, novels and assored other goodies.

bad girls
I know it sounds like a porn site, but really it was my tribute to a television show called 'Bad Girls' that currently airs on ITV in England. I've been able to catch episodes via the web and just thought it was one of the more interesting shows I'd ever seen. It is basically a primetime soap set in a women's prison called Larkhall. Think of it was 'Oz' but with girls.

satellite: a rachael stirling fanlisting
A fansite to the British actress Rachael Stirling. Daughter of Dame Diana 'Emma Peel' Rigg, Rachael is developed a nice sized cult following as a result of her work in 'Tipping the Velvet' and even though she is not that well known in the States, she still deserved a nice site.

naomi watts
I first took notice of Naomi Watts in the film 'Tank Girl,' but it wasn't until 'Mulholland Dr.' that she fully got my attention. And after 'The Ring' I thought I'd make a nice tribute to her. She is more than Nicole Kidman's best friend and Heath Ledger's girlfriend, she is one of the more talented actress to surface the past ten years.

lianca.org
An organization created to support and promote daytime's first same-sex romance, Lena and Bianca. I became involved because the two actresses are amazing and I have a whole lot of free time on my hands. The challenge was to make something eye catching, sleek and clean. This is the design I came up with. Currently online at lianca.org

enigma -- an erin daniels fan site
Blown away by her range and killer tennis swing on Showtime's The L Word, I decided to build a nice, clean and very simple site for the fine actress playing my TV alter-ego, Erin Daniels. Yeah, when I respect someone's work, I express myself through code. Thus, enigma -- an erin daniels fan site was born. Maybe I should just write a fan letter next time.
